“My Side Of The Bed” by Loose Buttons Navigates the complexities of past and present

The song is about the comfort of having someone by your side during those intense, introspective moments, finding solace and understanding in a partner who is always there. Navigating the complexities of past and present experiences. Ultimately, it’s a thank you to my partner, who makes my side of the bed feel like home.”

Loose Buttons’ Eric Nizgretsky on “My Side Of The Bed”: “This song came to life as I wandered the quiet, orange-hued streets of Brighton Beach, where my parents and grandparents first lived when they immigrated from Ukraine to Brooklyn – reflecting on my family’s history and my own emotions. I often think about my folks and the dreams they had to let go just so that I could be here.

“My Side Of The Bed” is the first release from this four-piece of lifelong New Yorkers since January. Before that, 2022-2023 was largely spent throwing a series of benefit shows for Ukrainian relief efforts around New York, teaming with locally-based artists including Michael Imperioli (Zopa), Aaron Maine (Porches), Anna Shoemaker, Eugene Hutz (Golgol Bordello) and Jonathan Toubin.

Recent shows include a sold-out Webster Hall, multiple headlining nights at Baby’s All Right, and a full-capacity east coast tour. The band is fronted by Eric Nizgretsky – a first-generation Ukrainian-American with Kyiv roots – and together they’ve spent much of the past year organizing a series of benefit shows to help those wounded and displaced in the country.
