New Dreamy Summer Single ‘You’ve Been Gone A While Now’ by Shannon Netemeyer

‘You’ve Been Gone A While Now’ by Shannon Netemeyer

If you’re a fan of indie pop, then you simply can’t afford to miss out on Shannon Netemeyer’s music. Her debut album, “Feed Me To The Trees”, is a testament to her incredible talent and dedication as an artist, and it’s sure to be the first of many amazing releases to come. So what are you waiting for? Put on your headphones, close your eyes, and let Shannon’s dreamy synth sounds transport you to another world.

I wrote this song in my head while I was on a bike ride. I remember one day it was very cold and I couldn’t catch my breath since the air made it hurt to breathe so I pulled over and jotted down the first couple stanzas.

I like to describe a really small instance to death, I imagine this whole song is just the few minutes you spend in bed after waking up in the morning, that thought process.

Often it will turn into some kind of love/love lost song, since I am, at my core, a romantic. As for the production, I think a trope of mine is to take a sad or evil sort of lyric and set it to something fun and upbeat. I couldn’t tell you why, it just ends up that way.

I am a singer/songwriter based in Chicago, Illinois. I like to make anything from dreamy, synth forward ballads to 80s inspired bangers, taking inspiration from Angel Olsen, Bjork, Perfume Genius, and many other indie artists.

My debut full album, ‘Feed Me To The Trees’, fully encapsulates my sound as an artist and I am thrilled to finally share it!

The first single off the album, You’ve Been Gone A While Now, will release on all major streaming platforms May 12th 2023.
